W3C Validator

I know so little about HTML it took me almost 30 minutes to fix my homepage. All 20 lines of it. If you need to, this helps to tell you what’s wrong and gives you hints as how to fix it.

My First Motivational Poster

Took these pix at a Firemen’s museum I visited over the weekend. There is a display of a living room and all the things that can cause a fire, including a running fireplace. Their point was that the wood and newspaper sitting next to the fireplace shouldn’t be there, but in their haste broke their own rule about plugging something into an extension cord that runs all day long.

Connectify.me

Very cool (yes, -w, I made sure I wanted to call it “very cool” first) app that lets you setup a hotspot on your Win7 system and share your Internet conenction with nearby wireless devices. Good for those hotels that still only have a wired connection. Oh yea, it’s free too. Takes about a minute to setup.

Showing Hidden Devices in Device Manager

I always forget this so I wanted to put here where I’ll also forget about it. You should be able to tell from the font that I ripped this from Technet.

  • At the command prompt, type:
    set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
  • From the command prompt, type:
    start devmgmt.msc
